Frequently Asked Questions:
What does A-CSM stand for?
A-CSM stands for “Advanced Certified ScrumMaster”.
A-CSM certification demonstrates to employers that the holder has at least 12 months of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach. Also that they have demonstrated competence with a broad set of stances and techniques required to be effective as a Scrum Master in service of one or more Agile Teams in an environment that may not yet be Agile friendly.
What is an Advanced Scrum Master?
An Advanced Certified Scrum Master is a certified accreditation from Scrum Alliance for Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches. It is considered more advanced than the entry-level CSM certification as it builds on knowledge of Scrum with a specific focus on the stances, skills and practical techniques to be effective as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in service of Agile Teams.
How much does A-CSM Certification cost?
Pricing varies significantly depending on:
- public vs. private, and
- live online vs. in-person.
Public live online courses have a lower cost than public in-person courses because the costs are lower (no venue hire, catering etc.)
For public courses, pricing also depends on:
- timing of the booking relative to early bird discount,
- group discounts if 3+ or 6+ are being booked together, and
- a special circumstances discount being agreed e.g. because you are out of work.
If you may qualify for one of these special circumstances discounts, or have a group of 6+, please contact us.
If there is an upcoming course listed (see “Next Upcoming Course:” above), the exact pricing is available when you select “Buy tickets”.
As a rough guide only, our live online A-CSM courses have recently been listed for AUD $1,600 inclusive of taxes. An early bird discount of $250 off is available for anyone who registers more than 3 weeks prior to the start of the course. This includes the certification fee with 2 years active certification and ongoing support from Adapt WithStyle.
Adapt WithStyle’s courses are accessible to any English speaker with Scrum Master or equivalent experience and a good Internet connection. The timing is particularly convenient for participants in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan.
What is the significance of A-CSM certification?
For employers, A-CSM accreditation signifies that the holder has both the skills and experience necessary to effectively serve a Scrum or Agile Team in a challenging environment. This may involve limited product management skills and team maturity, various forms of conflict and impediments that require intervention from outside of the team to resolve.
A-CSM accreditation also represents a highly distinguished step in the Path to CSP toward the Scrum Alliance’s highest bar for Scrum Masters: Certified Scrum Professional® ScrumMaster (CSP®-SM).
