Master Scrum Foundations
Our Scrum Foundations (SFo) course is about understanding the most widely used Agile framework in a way that connects principles with practical application.
It also includes experience of a full Sprint cycle creating a tangible product. This, combined with study of each Scrum event, provides you with practical techniques with which to start or improve your Scrum implementation right away.
Course Information:
You will explore and experience hands-on working with the Scrum events, artefacts and accountabilities/roles to create a real product during the course. You will experience the benefits of working this way and how the powerful principles of Scrum and Agile can be implemented practically. Complimentary practices such as relative estimation are introduced with techniques that make adoption quick and easy.
Scrum Foundations is an excellent choice for full Scrum Teams, their managers and other partners who are either starting out with Scrum or seeking to improve their alignment around and implementation of Scrum.
Come away with an understanding of what Scrum adoption means for you, no matter what your role in or outside a Scrum Team.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What’s the best introductory training on Scrum?
A core aspect of Scrum is how you work collaboratively with other people in a cross-functional team. The fastest way to learn this is to do it. That’s what our Scrum Foundations courses emphasises.
The need for such experiential learning with real people counts out self-paced training as well as courses focused on Scrum theory without practical application.
For these reasons, Scrum Foundations can be considered the best introductory training on Scrum.
What’s the best intro to Scrum course for developers?
Scrum Foundations is the best introductory course on Scrum for developers. Reasons include the following.
Scrum Foundations covers the subset of the CSM and CSPO learning objectives that is relevant when you are not playing the Scrum Master or Product Owner roles. These well-designed learning objectives have been refined many times over by expert guides with the foremost Scrum education body: Scrum Alliance.
Developers may wish to take a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) course to go deeper into working effectively in a Scrum team. The CSD course is currently rarely available however – particularly in Australia and adjacent timezones.
Why do Scrum Foundations rather than Certified ScrumMaster?
Scrum Foundations is half the length of a Certified ScrumMaster course. If you do not have the Scrum Master accountability, some of the Scrum Master-specific topics may not be as relevant.
Is Scrum Foundations available as a public course?
No. We do not offer Scrum Foundations publicly. We do however run it privately within organisations. To discuss if this is appropriate to achieve your outcomes, please see our Private Training page.
Can I earn a certification from Scrum Foundations?
No. Scrum Alliance no longer offer a certification or badge with Scrum Foundations classes.
Having done Scrum Foundations, can I earn CSM or CSPO with only 1 more day of training?
Yes if you take a subsequent CSM course with Adapt WithStyle. Please contact us about this when you register for your CSM. This option does not apply for CSPO however as there is more than 1 day worth of Product Owner specific material covered in that course.
